About Plazh Smokinya
Reviewed by Tony Denesa·Updated:
Smokinya beach lies south of Sozopol on Bulgaria's southern Black Sea coast, next to Kavatsite and the Duni area. It is a wide beach framed by dunes and shoreline vegetation, known for its laid-back feel and the open, natural landscape of this part of the coast.
Sand and getting in The beach is fine, golden sand, and the entry into the water is gradual, with the depth building slowly from the shore. That gentle slope keeps the water approachable for children and swimmers of all levels. The southern Black Sea is generally warm through the summer months and has no significant tide.
Practical notes and who it suits Beach season runs roughly from May to September, with the warmest water around midsummer. The generous space and easy entry make it a good fit for families, as well as anyone after a more natural beach with room to breathe. It is reachable by car from Sozopol and Burgas along the coastal road.
As a long, natural-feeling beach, bring shade, water and sun protection; check on site for the services available in season.
