Youth Hill (Mladezhki Halm)

Youth Hill, known in Bulgarian as Mladezhki Halm (Младежки хълм), is one of the characteristic hills of Plovdiv — the city of seven hills. Laid out as a park, it is a green oasis and a favourite place for a walk among locals, where nature and views over the city come together.

What you'll see

The hill is covered in greenery and crossed by paths and alleys that climb gently towards the top. From the summit, fine panoramas open up over Plovdiv and the surrounding Thracian plain. It is a quiet space, suited to walks, jogging, outings and unwinding away from the bustle of the centre. The hill has landscaped green areas and spots to rest.

Practical

Youth Hill is within the city and reachable on foot or by local transport, then up the paths. Access is free. The best times are morning or towards sunset, for pleasant light and clear views. Wear comfortable shoes, as there are sloping sections. It is a good choice for a green break to complement a tour of the historic attractions in central Plovdiv.
